I graduated from Harvey Mudd College with a BS in mathematics (statistics, optimization, algorithms) with a minor in languages (Chinese, Russian, German). While at Mudd I worked on research projects in Chemistry and Engineering.

My time at Mudd culminate in a machine learning algorithm to improve safety and optimization of drilling. While working on that project I realized data science encapsulated everything I loved about math - statistics, modeling, and optimization.

Since college I've worked in several fields but all of them have big data in common with the possibility of applying algorithms in the hopes of understanding more about what exactly is going on.
